Full service digital agency 9xb.com has secured a deal with the Post Office to develop a bespoke online system as part of the organisation’s nationwide investment in local branches.
The digital project will be completed by April and is expected to be accessed by thousands of subpostmasters as they apply for funding to upgrade their facilities.
Simon Blake of 9xb.com said the development was being led by the agency’s technical team whose previous experience in this area includes work for Total Gas and Power to create a web-based process as part of their CRC efficiency scheme. “This latest assignment for the Post Office has to be delivered within a very tight timescale and our expertise in this type of digital development has therefore been particularly useful,” he said.
The Post Office is expecting around 11,000 applications as part of a restructuring programme that will see the creation of new style Post Office Locals. Subpostmasters can apply to receive funding to cover the cost of converting their existing Post Office to the new model as part of a £1.34bn government scheme to improve the network.
“The online forms have been designed with ease of use in mind and a bespoke automated process will analyse the data, significantly reducing the time needed to manually review and approve each application,” said Mr Blake.
