Google have confirmed they are set to roll out a Penguin update before the end of the year.
Penguin refers to a set of algorithm changes that Google periodically updates to enhance the quality of its search results.
The update will see the switch to a 'real-time' Penguin, meaning website rankings will now be downgraded instantly for attempting to unscrupulously manipulate search engine rankings.
In the past Google have been hesitant to release major algorithmic updates so close to the public holidays. With this change potentially creating turbulence during peak shopping season it is essential you have a contingency plan to compensate for any loss in traffic and revenue.
